Rolando Rodriguez, Court Administrator & Deputy City Secretary

Q&A with Rolando

What’s your position with the city, and how long have you been in that role?

Court Administrator/ Deputy City Secretary for about 4 years now.

What’s an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

I visited every corner of Texas on a Greyhound as a solo trip.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Hobbies?

I enjoy being part of a Horror Book/film Club, volunteering at Tony’s Place, teaching Film Photography and Darkroom Printing, hiking through local trails, and visiting my local library/museum

What do you like about working for the City of SVV?

Although the court has a daunting impression, it does feel like meaningful work since you spend a lot of your time assisting the community. “Is this where you can get vital records?” No, but I can guide you in the right direction. It ends up being a reference desk, the more you think about it.

What would you be doing if you didn’t work here?

Honestly, there’s probably three routes I could have gone or pursued:

1. An English Teacher

2. An archivist/conservator for artists such as Robert Adams, Hiroshi Sugimoto or Pia-Paulina Guilmoth.

3. Something In academia that involves art history or literature.

If you have one thing you could share with the residents of SVV, what would it be?

Thank you for looking out for your pedestrians!

The City of Spring Valley Village is grateful for Rolando’s dedication to the community and continued support of staff members. That dedication and enthusiasm make Rolando an important part of our team!
