This month, we’re proud to highlight Sergeant Trent Wood as our November Employee Spotlight. Sgt. Wood has played an important role in serving and protecting Spring Valley Village, and we’re excited to share more about the person behind the badge.

Trent Wood, Patrol Sergeant
Q&A with Sgt. Wood
What’s your position with the city, and how long have you been in that role?
I am a Patrol Sergeant and have been in that position for the past 9+ years.
What’s an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?
I was a Priest in the Mormon Church for several years.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Hobbies?
Not sure if its much of a hobby….I like to work with my hands, designing, constructing, and improving things. I wear A LOT of hats.
What do you like about working for the City of SVV?
I enjoy the opportunity to be more than just a number. Sometimes I believe that we know way more than we should about one another. I am also greatly appreciative of the residents and their support of the men and women of our Police Department.
What would you be doing if you didn’t work here?
I like to cook and try different things – so I think I would have gone to a culinary school to be a chef OR maybe a stunt man……I do all my OWN stunts.
If you have one thing you could share with the residents of SVV, what would it be?
Here comes my Public Service Announcement: Please store your valuables inside your home, use your alarm systems, and lock your doors to your house and your automobiles. There are plenty of opportunists afoot and they will take advantage of a minor mistake. You are also our eyes and ears of this community. My hat’s off to you.
Thank you, Sgt. Wood, for your professionalism and devotion to our City. We’re grateful for your impact and proud to have you as part of our team.
